Dear Members and Friends,

The Reith Lectures is a series of annual radio lectures given by leading figures of the day, commissioned by the BBC and broadcast BBC Radio 4 and the BBC  World service. The lectures were inaugurated in 1948 by the BBC to mark the historic contribution made to public service broadcasting by Lord Reith, the corporation's first director-general.

This year’s lectures are given by Prof Stuart Russell on the theme of ‘Living with AI’. There are 4 lectures in the series; the first was broadcast last Wednesday and the second on ‘AI in Warfare’ is scheduled for this Wednesday at 0900 GMT.

I don’t know what he is going to say and whether you will find it stimulating, encouraging or frightening. It should be downloadable as a podcast if you can’t listen live via whatever podcast player you use.

Best wishes
